The Master Slave

By the standards of raw strength and power, the body is a slave to the mind.
It moves, breathes, acts and reacts on command; be it consciously or subconsciously.
In what fashion and to what degree is all a direct result of the thoughts that dominate our mind.
But, what happens when we allow the slave to rule the master?
There’s a hierarchical breakdown. The chain of command is broken, ultimately resulting in insubordination.
Maybe you’re saying, “Hey, this is like the fall of the Roman Empire. How does this happen to a powerhouse like the mind?”
I suggest, like the fall of the Roman Empire, it happens gradually over time.
If you and I belly up to the world’s table day after day we find a feast catered to the body, complete with unwholesome foods, destructive conversation, impulse buying, and instant gratification to name a few.
If we are to keep the power of our lives in competent hands we must first feed the mind/spirit all that is just, healthy and beautiful and let the mind/spirit feed the body.
